Kevin Spacey has revealed the partial secret of his success - bluffing his way into celebrity parties before he himself found fame. The Oscar-winning Spacey used his spectacular acting talents to sneak into Hollywood studios and gatecrash celebrity bashes with his producer pal Dean Devlin by pretending to be sons of famous folk - a la Will Smith's character in Six Degrees of Separation, where he played a character who pretended to be the son of Sidney Poitier. Spacey says, "Basically we wanted to go to clubs - but we were f***ing nobodies and we didn't dress right. So I pretended to be Johnny Carson's son - Kevin Carson. If you did a little bit of Johnny's voice, people bought it." He adds, "We'd get into [legendary New York club] Studio 54 that way - they'd give us our own table, bring over champagne - it was hysterical." Spacey also used to take days off school to masquerade as a technician to get onto the Universal and Warner Bros lots where he mingled with crew members and once saw 70s TV hit Kojak being filmed.
