The 69-year-old star of foreign film, Central Station, has accused Hollywood of favouritism following Gwyneth Paltrow's scoop of the Best Actress Oscar, and has even stated Life is Beautiful as being unworthy of victory. In a televised interview Tuesday, Fernanda Montenegro described Paltrow as "this romantic figure, thin, pure, virginal" Going on to draw her conclusion, the bitter actress said, "They don't have much of this type of actress in American cinema, it's an investment" As for mad hatter Roberto Benigni and his award-winning flick, Life is Beautiful, which battled against Central Station in the Best Foreign Film category, Montenegro said: "It didn't deserve to win. I think even Benigni recognised this. As a film it was weak," she continued on her critical war path, "I thought it was just him that won, not the film itself"
