The first trailer for Wes Craven’s latest stab at the horror genre, My Soul To Tak****e, has arrived online for your viewing convenience.

Take focuses on the inhabitants of the otherwise sleepy Massachusetts town Riverton, which years before was scared stiff by a serial killer known as the Riverton Ripper.

Now, it appears the man is back – quite a trick, since he died a long time ago. And his targets? Seven children who were born on the day he apparently snuffed it and are now high schoolers.

Yep, it would seem that Craven really isn’t quite finished with the Freddy Krueger jelly mould, since this one appears to come straight out of the same idea that spawned the dream meanie.

And chalk another film up to the director’s troubled series – this one has been plagued with issues, including title changes, having to recast the lead and several delays. Hell, it started filming back in April 2008 and is only now seeing a US release, on October 29, to be exact.

It also looks frightfully generic. Still, take a look at the trailer and offer your opinion. There’s no word on a UK release date yet.
