In between her work as Sansa on Game Of Thrones and her mutant movie duties on the likes of X-Men: Dark Phoenix, Sophie Turner's making room for other acting gigs. And with Thrones on the verge of wrapping up, she'll have more time for movies such as Girl Who Fell From The Sky, to which she's attached to star in and produce.
Director Stan Brooks adapted the script from Juliane Koepcke and Beate Rygiert's book, which follows what happened when Koepcke became the lone survivor of an air crash in the Peruvian rain forest. A 17-year-old high school senior aboard LANSA flight 508 on 24 December 1971, she lived to tell the tale when the plane was struck by lightning.
Ejected from the cabin, still belted into her seat, Koepcke fell 10,000 feet before the canopy of the rain forest broke her descent and saved her life. She then survived an 11-day ordeal through the jungle to find help. The film promises an experience along the lines of Gravity, with Turner making a hazardous journey.
There is no set return date for Thrones just yet, but Turner has also worked on Huntsville, Time Freak and has Dark Phoenix hitting UK screens on 2 November next year.
