The Son Of Conan

Fresh from slaying armies in Egypt as The Scorpion King, WWF wrestler turned Hollywood star Dwayne 'The Rock' Johnson is being pursued to take a role as Conan junior in the third instalment to the series. Talks to see The Rock in the title role were reportedly abandoned after he landed the lead in ** The Scorpion King** but it would seem that, with work on Conan pushed back, there may yet be room for Johnson to appear in the film. According to TheArnoldFan.com, Arnold Schwarzenegger told fans that Conan 3 was pressing on and that The Rock may well feature "as Conan's son. We are trying to get him to sign on." It's been 19 years since Arnold shed his barbarian guise but Hollywood hasn't evolved too far from the good old hack n' slash adventures of Conan and his gang. Arnold has said that, while involved in the project, he won't be palying Conan again and whoever picks up the broadsword to fill the title role will certainly have his work cut out. Empire Online thinks that, perhaps, someone like Vin Diesel would make a good 21st century, shaven-headed hero for the film.
