In a reversal of the current trend for US stars to tread the boards in London's West End, a UK theatrical company is planning to take some homegrown stars stateside this summer. The Ambassador Theatre Group is making arrangements to take plays starring Jude Law and Eddie Izzard over to Broadway this Autumn. Law, who is currently starring in Dr Faustus at London's Young Vic theatre has received mixed reviews for his performance, but the lure of Law at the box office has proved to be unbeatable - tickets are rarer than a good Val Kilmer movie. 'Jude Law and I are chatting about dates,' the group's director Howard Panter tells Variety today. 'We're going over his film schedule right now. We plan to bring 'Doctor Faustus' over in 2003.' And as for Izzard, whose role in the play A Day in the Death of Joe Egg recently finished a London run, 'Nothing is signed yet, but he wants to and we want to,' Panter said.
