There have been misnamed films before, but surely none have been as misleadingly titled as Todd Solondz' Happiness, a story of suburban misery and child molestation. But good news, people: he's back with more where that came from.
Yes, Solondz is planning what is described as a "part-sequel, part-companion piece" to the film, with new indie producers Werc Werk Works stumping up the cash. Filming will start in October on the film, around which rumours have been flying for years. At various points, Emma Thompson, Demi Moore and, er, Paul Reubens have all been attached to roles, but casting is just getting underway for the shoot in San Juan, Puerto Rico (you lovely island).
Not much has been revealed about Solondz' screenplay, except that it "revolves around a group of individuals struggling to find a place for themselves in an unpredictable and volatile world". So that narrows it down then. The story's told through intersecting love stories, with (probably non-literal) ghosts circling.
Look out for this at a festival / art-house cinema / rave review near you next year!
