UPDATE: While a teaser may still show up on Sunday, US show Good Morning America has announced that it will have a trailer exclusive the morning of Monday 5 Feb, so expect the official unveiling there.

The next Star Wars story is no longer so far, far away, and yet we haven’t seen a single official image or trailer from the forthcoming Han Solo prequel. In fact, it’s less than four months until we’ll be seeing the entire film.

But it now looks like Disney is finally be ready to showcase a first glimpse of Alden Ehrenreich’s young Han to fans. Internet scuttlebutt currently suggests that the first trailer for Solo: A Star Wars Story will arrive during Sunday’s Super Bowl. The biggest event in the American Football calendar always packs out its ad breaks with high-profile film spots, and with Star Wars fans already clamoring for a look at the new film it all seems like a likely fit.

The delay in promotional material likely stems from the film's famously troubled production. Original directors Phil Lord and Chris Miller, behind The Lego Movie and 21 Jump Street, departed the shoot just weeks before it was due to wrap, with Ron Howard stepping in to replace them. That caused significant reshoots for the cast, which includes Donald Glover as a young Lando Calrissian, as well as Emilia Clarke, Woody Harrelson, Paul Bettany, Phoebe Waller-Bridge and Thandie Newton.

The only official material from the film so far is a synopsis, which reveals just a few scant details — Solo will show how Han met Chewie and Lando, and how he came into possession of the Millennium Falcon. Expect to know at least a little bit more in the early hours of Monday morning, UK time, if the Super Bowl is indeed when the first teaser arrives.
