Solo: A Star Wars Story

After making us wonder whether the film would pull a J.J. Abrams-style stunt and just appear in cinemas with barely a trailer or picture online, Solo: A Star Wars Story has finally pushed something into the world, in the shape of a TV spot during the Super Bowl that prompts you to watch the full trailer on Monday.

It's our first chance to see what Alden Ehrenreich looks like as he shoulders the mantle of one of the most iconic characters in cinema history. And to hear, albeit briefly, from him too. It's too early to tell whether he's successfully channelled the Solo spirit, but at least we've gotten a glimpse.

Also present? The likes of Emilia Clarke, playing the mysterious Qi'Ra, Woody Harrelson's Tobias Beckett, Donald Glover as Lando, and, of course, a shot of Chewbacca (Joonas Suotamo) at the end there. And is that Phoebe Waller-Bridge as the robot?

Famously troubled after original directors Phil Lord and Chris Miller were unceremoniously removed from their job, to be replaced by Ron Howard, Solo: A Star Wars Story will be out on 25 May. The full trailer, as mentioned, will be online Monday.
