Disney and Lucasfilm famously prefer to stay as tight-lipped as possible when it comes to the specific plots of the companies' Star Wars output. Still, with movies to promote, there is a need to say something, and now we have a fuller official synopsis for Solo: A Star Wars Story.
The film, which will turn back time to follow the early years of everyone's favourite smuggler, finds Alden Ehrenreich as Han Solo, and now we'll learn – whether we all want to or not – some of what made him the man he is when Luke and Obi-Wan rock up at Mos Eisley.
If you'd rather still know nothing, then skip the following paragraph: "Board the Millennium Falcon and journey to a galaxy far, far away in Solo: A Star Wars Story, an all-new adventure with the most beloved scoundrel in the galaxy. Through a series of daring escapades deep within a dark and dangerous criminal underworld, Han Solo meets his mighty future copilot Chewbacca and encounters the notorious gambler Lando Calrissian, in a journey that will set the course for one of the Star Wars saga’s most unlikely heroes."
So yes... a lot of we expected to see, including his first encounter with his best pal and walking carpet and the origin story for his ownership of the Millennium Falcon.
Solo has suffered through some hiccups, including the firing of original directors Phil Lord and Chris Miller and their replacement with Ron Howard. The movie is still on track to arrive on 25 May this very year.
