While we’re all still puzzling over the question as to whether Jon Snow is alive, dead, or somewhere in between and if/how he might return to the series next year, HBO has decided to stoke the flames of speculation with a new teaser poster. So take a look at the first official image for Game Of Thrones Season 6 below.

Yes, that’s Kit Harington’s Jon, but he doesn’t look well at all. Still, it doesn’t definitively say whether he’ll be back and interacting with everyone else, so we’ll still have to wait and see where the story goes. Especially as the series has now superseded George R.R. Martin’s source novels in terms of story. We’re headed into undiscovered country here, so anything could happen.

The other news for Thrones fans is the fact that the series will return a little later than usual in 2016 – while it is still in April, expect it towards the end of the month thanks to a quirk in HBO’s scheduling. You’d think the company would want to keep one of its crown jewels exactly in place, but at least it isn’t shoving all the way to the autumn or trying a summer run.

There’s no exact date yet beyond that mentioned month, but the series should be back on Sky Atlantic the usual 24 hours after its Stateside debut. For more on Thrones, take a listen to Margaery Tyrell – better known as Natalie Dormer – talking to us on the latest Empire Podcast below.
