Last night at the SXSW Film Fest, a lucky few got to see the first footage and trailers for Predators, the Robert Rodriguez-produced, Nimrod Antal-directed relaunch of the franchise.
And, as a thoughtful bone to those who can’t make it to Texas for the fest, the filmmakers have thrown up a quick preview, introduced by Rodriguez that includes footage from the movie and an explanation of what they wanted to achieve.
So click below to get a look at Adrien Brody, Laurence Fishburne and the rest transported to what they quickly realise is a game preserve where, as Brody points out, “we’re the game”.
We also have a first look at the SXSW teaser poster for Predators.
Update:** **Over at Wired, they've got pics from the presentation and quotes from Rodriguez, Antal and Greg Nicotero about the effects and creatures they've designed for the movie. Lots of nasty-looking critters to be found, based on the concept that they've taken a number of beasts and given them a Predator-style makeover. You can see a couple below and more concept art at Wired.com.

We're promised a trailer by the end of the week, but even on the evidence of this, it looks like Predators could be a lot of fun…
