Here's another early Christmas present, as we get our first look at the Fantastic Four's new nemesis, the Silver Surfer, care of USA Today.

We weren't big fans of the first Fantastic Four movie. In fact, Chris Evans and Michael Chiklis aside, it was woeful. But the herald, some might say enabler, of planet munching glutton Galactus is one of the comic world's best loved characters, so we're more than a little intrigued as to how he pep up the Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer.

As for the look, well we can only currently see head and shoulders, but he looks pretty good, like an Oscar with an attitude. Here's what USA Today had to say about the character.

"With computer-generated imagery techniques similar to those used to create Gollum in The Lord of the Rings, the slippery Surfer, voiced by Doug Jones, "will look somewhere between gun metal and fluid metallics so you can see the body motion, the breathing, the muscle tone, the mood," says Marvel Studios CEO Avi Arad.

The Surfer's mood is key to the story. After striking a deal with the evil Galactus to save his planet, the once-human Surfer wreaks havoc throughout the cosmos. "He is a highly emotional being, trapped inside fluid metal," Arad says".

The teaser trailer for the movie is expected to hit imminently.
