You already know Shohreh Aghdashloo from films such as The House Of Sand And Fog, Star Trek Beyond and, because our James Dyer would be outraged if we let it pass without mention, her sweartastic role as Chrisjen Avasarala on The Expanse. She's the latest addition to Universal's new Dracula-adjacent horror pic Renfield, which already features Nicholas Hoult, Nicolas Cage and Awkwafina.

The Lego Batman Movieand The Tomorrow War director Chris McKay is calling the shots for this one, which really sounds like it'll mix a healthy dose of humour into the story.

Ryan Ridley's script finds Renfield (Hoult) growing sick and tired of his centuries as Dracula’s (Cage) lackey. The henchman finds a new lease on life and maybe even redemption when he falls for feisty, perennially angry traffic cop Rebecca Quincy (Awkwafina).

Aghdashloo will play Ella, a bold woman who is one of the most feared crime lords in the city, joining a cast that also boasts Ben Schwartz and Adrian Martinez.

Renfield doesn't have a set release date yet, but we can likely expect it next year.
