The Marvel/Disney+ series She-Hulk has been filming for a while now, with Tatiana Maslany starring as lawyer Jennifer Walters, cousin to Bruce Banner. But we're only now learning about one of the cast, as The Good Place's Jameela Jamil has reportedly snagged the part of Titania.
Rumour site The Illuminerdi confirms a previous story from Giant Freakin' Robot that Jamil has landed the role that had been codenamed "Lucy" and was described in initial casting sides as a Kardashian-esque social media influencer in her 30s with a dark side. That, according to the site, was cover for Titania, who in the comics is a woman who spent her younger days as a scrawny weakling bullied and bitter, before being offered the chance for power by Doctor Doom (who has yet to make it in to the MCU, so expect the show to tweak her origin). She becomes a formidable adversary to Walters, armed with superhuman strength and stamina.
With Jessica Gao as show-runner and Kat Coiro and Anu Valia directing the series, She-Hulk is pitched as a blend of legal comedy and superhero adventure, introducing Walters (who famously in the comics receives her powers via a blood transfusion from her cousin and spends a lot of time hulked out but with her intelligence intact, a little like Bruce in Endgame). Ginger Gonzaga is on to play her best friend, with Renée Elise Goldsberry as Amelia. Mark Ruffalo has been on set to play Bruce Banner, while Tim Roth is returning as Emil Blonsky from The Incredible Hulk. The show should be on our screens next year.
