"You are very menacing," Zachary Levi's Shazam tells Helen Mirren's Hespera in this new trailer for Shazam! Fury Of The Gods. "I just want you to know that." And indeed she is: Mirren's character, along with sister Kalypso (Lucy Liu) have arrived to claim their powers back from the "children" (Shazam and his family). And to do it, they're bringing all their powers. Oh, and a dragon. Check out the footage below…
Fury Of The Gods, directed once more by David F. Sandberg, finds Billy Batson (Asher Angel) — who transforms into Levi's superhero alter ego when he says the word "shazam!" — facing the new threat even as he tries to hold the superhero family together. Soon, the team is fighting for their lives… and the fate of the world is at stake.
We can expect a typically fun spin on superhero stories, with Levi as the charismatic centre. And who doesn't love the idea of Helen Mirren and Lucy Liu chewing the scenery as villains?
Shazam! Fury Of The Gods will be in cinemas from 17 March.
