Now that Black Widow is finally out in the world, Marvel is about to deliver some brand new characters into the MCU. Ahead of Chloé Zhao’s Eternals, this September brings the debut of hero Shang-Chi in Shang-Chi And The Legend Of The Ten Rings – starring Simu Liu as the Asian-American superhero facing up to his destiny, his family heritage, and swathes of bad guys. And with that cinematic adventure now just over a month away, Marvel has released another short but very sweet new trailer sure to get you in the mood for martial arts and more.
With more footage of that fighting arena setpiece, more of Awkwafina as Shang-Chi’s best friend Katy, more of the hard-hitting bus brawl seen in previous trailers, and more glimpses of epic battle sequences, this one is looking more exciting by the minute – a different flavour of MCU, a completely new corner of the universe with fresh characters, and another major Marvel blockbuster with all the scale and special effects you’d expect. The film is directed by Short Term 12’s Destin Daniel Cretton, and also stars screen legends Tony Leung and Michelle Yeoh.
Shang-Chi And The Legend Of The Ten Rings is set to hit UK cinemas on 3 September – followed later this year by Eternals and Spider-Man: No Way Home. And with Hawkeye also expected to hit Disney+ before the year is out, get ready for much more from Marvel in the months to come.
