If you were a fan of Shang-Chi And The Legend Of The Ten Rings (and given its box office, a lot of people were), you'll be happy – if perhaps not all that surprised – to learn that a sequel is in the works, with co-writer/director Destin Daniel Cretton returning to make it.
This year's original, which starred Simu Liu as the titular hero who battled ancient creatures and his own paternal issues, has earned more than $430 million at the worldwide box office, becoming one of the most successful movies of the pandemic era. There are no plot details for the sequel yet but – spoiler alert if you haven't seen the movie – the second credits sting suggested that the Ten Rings organization would continue under new leadership.
The new movie will be part of Cretton's overall deal with Marvel plus Hulu's Onyx Collective, which includes him also developing a new MCU TV series for Disney+. He's also at work adapting Gene s Yang's graphic novel American Born Chinese for Hulu.

"We had a fantastic time working together on the film and he has so many intriguing ideas for stories to bring to life on Disney+, so we’re thrilled to expand our relationship with him and can’t wait to get started.
