Steven Spielberg is getting personal for his next film, at least to some degree. He's been busy co-writing (with Tony Kushner) a new drama that is inspired by his upbringing in Arizona, and he's currently putting together the cast. Seth Rogen is on board to play a favourite uncle to the young main character.
While the exact story is still mostly under wraps, it'll follow family members across several years, with Spielberg looking for young actors to portray the kids. Michelle Williams is already aboard to play a role inspired by Spielberg's mother.
Given how much of an impact that Spielberg's upbringing had on his filmmaking, it'll be fascinating to see what he creates when he channels it even more directly. He's looking to shoot this summer with the idea that the movie will land next year.
