For a road trip comedy that not only boasts Seth Rogen but also sees the man teaming up with Barbra Streisand, My Mother’s Curse has taken a while to get to a point where it can shoot. Wobbling along like a car with a nasty puncture, it’s been stranded by scheduling issues and locking down a director, but now Rogen and Streisand will put the pedal to the metal this spring.

The Proposal’s Anne Fletcher is on to shoot the film, which will be based on Cars co-writer Dan Fogelman’s script, for which he drew on his own experiences from driving around with him mother.

Rogen will play an inventor who invites his mum (Streisand) on a cross-country trip to sell his new product. Along the way, the two bicker and try to figure out their dynamic while also tracking down one of her lost loves.

Streisand, of course, is not as unlikely a co-star as you might think, given her history with comedy roles. But we are hoping for a little more from this one than, say, Little Fockers
