In 2014, it was announced that Seth Rogen and Evan Goldberg would be writing and directing a film based on Blake J. Harris' book Console Wars. Like an unplugged Megadrive, things went awfully quiet, with the duo mentioning that they intended to spearhead a documentary for release before the movie happened. The doc is still in the works, but the movie idea has morphed into a miniseries.

Harris' book, which itself was published in 2014, used more than 200 interviews with former Sega and Nintendo employees to explore how the former took on the juggernaut of the latter and revolutionised the video game industry.

Rogen and Goldberg are still attached as producers for the series, while Mike Rosolio will write the pilot and Kong: Skull Island's Jordan Vogt-Roberts is directing. Legendary Television is part of the deal to develop the book, but it's not yet set up with a channel or streaming service. Given the number of shows that Rogen and Goldberg already have running, this one seems destined to land somewhere.
