No, we haven't left some random placeholder in the film's title for that headline – Seth Rogen, Bill Hader and Zach Galifianakis really are all starring in a new sci-fi comedy called The Something.

It's all been spawned from the brain-egg of writer Rodney Rothman, who has worked on the scripts for 22 Jump Street and Grudge Match and has been a consultant and producer on various other movies. Now he's stepping up to direct his new idea, which finds a group of male astronauts stuck in space alone for years who suddenly cross paths with another ship.

Universal is backing the film, with Rogen also producing via his company. Quite what the trio will be up to has yet to be announced, but we're getting a slight Dark Star vibe already.

Rogen is back this year with Bad Neighbours 2: Sorority Rising and animated pic Sausage Party. He's also been working on James Franco's film about the making of The Room, The Disaster Artist. Hader is one of the voices in the aforementioned Sausage Party, has also lent his tonsil talents to The Angry Birds Movie and will be Bloodbottler the giant in The BFG. Galifianakis, meanwhile, has been shooting spy comedy Keeping Up With The Joneses and will voice The Joker in next year's The Lego Batman Movie.
