If you spent your four-day Easter weekend finally blasting your way through your Netflix list, you’re probably looking to stock it back up again – and the streaming service has an exclusive new sci-fi film lined up for next month that may well make it onto your watchlist. See You Yesterday is a Spike Lee-produced time-travel movie, which is of interest by itself, and looks like a stylish, timely film, tackling police shootings of unarmed black men with science fiction tropes. Watch the trailer below.
See You Yesterday stars Eden Duncan-Smith and Dante Crichlow as CJ and Sebastian, two budding science prodigies who crack the ability to travel through time – and when CJ’s older brother is killed by the NYPD, the pair make it their mission to save him. The film marks the feature directorial debut of Stefan Bristol, adapting his own 2017 short film of the same name into a feature. With a star-free cast, but a top concept and the clout of Spike Lee, this is the sort of film that could really benefit from the major online distribution of Netflix.
Catch See You Yesterday on the service from 17 May.
