If you were anticipating the release of The Secret Life Of Walter Mitty, time to release that breath – it’s not going to happen just yet.

Paramount has announced that the remake of the 1947 Danny Kaye comedy, about a comic book writer whose dream life is preferable to his real one, has been put into turnaround. The film had hooked a star in Owen Wilson, but progress fell apart when the studio failed to settle on a female lead. The most recent front-runner was Scarlett Johansson. Wilson’s now out of the film.

So it’s back to Development Hell for this one – even with Zach Braff as a rumoured leading man replacement.
