Directing an Adrian Mole movie

Nearly twenty years after it was first published – and spawned a raft of TV shows, a musical and several book sequels – The Secret Diary Of Adrian Mole is making it to the big screen.

Sue Townsend’s bestseller chronicles the tortured teenage ramblings of Adrian, a 13-¾ wannabe intellectual with a passion for Pandora (the unattainable girl in his life, not the ancient legend) and an obsession with the size of his genitalia.

Nigel Cole, who directed Calendar Girls, will helm from a script by Bradley Wood. Who knows? This could be the next Harry Potter. With more penis gags.
