Second Titans Trailer Arrives

The giant scorpions are back, but this time they're slower. The second trailer for Louis Letterier's Clash of the Titans remake, starring Sam Worthington, Liam Neeson, Ralph Fiennes and Gemma Arterton, gives itself fractionally more breathing space than the first (at least to start with). It'll be playing in theatres before Avatar.

There are better glimpses of some of the monsters (Medusa among them), a few seconds of Mads Mikkelson, "Titans! Will! Clash!" has been replaced with "Damn! The! Gods!", and there's more dialogue than before, including the legendary "Release the Kraken!" from Neeson. That had to be as daunting a line as "Bond, James Bond" but, by Zeus, it looks like he's cracked it.

The raison d'etre for this trailer would appear to be the big reveal of the Kraken itself, which looks rather like the Cloverfield beast to our eyes. So that's where it came from. It swam over from Greece to New York and lay dormant for a couple of thousand years.

Clash of the Titans is released in the UK on March 26th. Fans of Clutch may be disappointed to learn that Useless the Younger still doesn't appear on the character list.
