Right, we know this has been up for a while and we should have got around to it earlier. But dammit, we’re getting round to it now because, frankly, the second Knight & Day trailer is worth getting around to. For it be awesome.
We were pleasantly surprised by the first trailer, in which Cameron Diaz’ bewildered damsel in distress is kidnapped/seduced by Tom Cruise’s swashbuckling secret agent. The second continues the entertaining trend, but puts more meat on the bones – we learn Cruise’s character name (Miller), that he’s a spy who’s apparently gone nuts (according to boo-hiss baddy, Peter Sarsgaaaaaaard), and there’s more action than you can shake a bootleg copy of The Expendables at. All done with tons of flair, bags of humour and genuine movie star swagger. Cruise hasn’t looked like he’s had this much fun in years. Yes, including that Les Grossman dance.
Head to IMDB to see the second trailer for James Mangold's Knight & Day – which has suddenly leapt to the top of our wanna-see wishlist.
In other Knight & Day news, the IMDb also debuted one of the first official stills from the movie, an interestingly-composited shot of Cruise & Diaz on a bike, riding through some Spanish streets. OK, it doesn't look entirely convincing, but we've still got high hopes for a film that started off the summer as a dark horse, and could finish it as an alpha dog.
