Sean Penn is heading into the wild with Lords Of Dogtown’s Emile Hirsch.

Penn has been signed by Paramount to direct Into The Wild with Hirsch starring. Penn adapted the script from Jon Krakauer’s best-selling book. It tells the tale of Christopher McCandless, who graduated from college in 1992, threw out all his possessions and hitchhiked to Alaska to live in the wilderness and return to nature. His story doesn’t exactly have a happy ending – he died four months later in an abandoned bus.
