Back in February, word spread that comic book artist-turned director Kaare Andrews would be in charge of the megaphone for Patient Zero, the first of two planned **Cabin Fever **follow-ups now gearing up to shoot. Now Andrews has rounded up the first batch of potential victims, with Sean Astin, Brando Eaton and Ben Hollingsworth aboard.

Patient Zero will, as the name might suggest, unspool the origins of the flesh-gobbling virus that Eli Roth first unleashed in 2003’s first film. The story will see a Caribbean cruise ship unexpectedly run ashore on a medical research island and the passengers finding that their floating party has suddenly turned into painful, deadly, abject terror.

Andrews will be cranking the cameras in the Dominican Republic this August. Astin, of course, needs little introduction, primarily thanks to his role as Sam Gamgee in a certain trilogy about lords and rings. Eaton is a veteran of US telly drama The Secret Life Of The American Teenager and a variety of other sequels, and was also seen in Alvin And The Chipmunks: The Squeakquel (which, coincidentally also featured Astin in a voice cameo as a TV show narrator). Hollingsworth has also appeared in various TV series and was David Duchovny’s fake son in The Joneses.
