Donald Faison, the man best known to many movie fans as Murray from **Clueless **– and to many more TV fans as Dr. Turk from Scrubs – is set to star as Doctor Gravity in the upcoming Kick-Ass 2, with a new banner (below) also being released today via Collider.
Though not fully confirmed by the studio, the one-time 'Guy Love' singer has been earmarked to play the masked vigilante character, who appears in Mark Millar's Kick-Ass 2 graphic novel.
For anyone who hasn't read it yet, Doctor Gravity is a man who claims to be a physics professor at Columbia University, armed with a baseball bat-like device called the "Gravity Pole" which can increase the weight of certain objects.
Of course, with this being Kick-Ass, this is just his story – he's actually an English major with an overactive imagination – but hey, to each his own.
Faison's potential casting comes after the news that John Leguizamo will play Javier, the bodyguard assigned to protect Red Mist (Mintz-Plasse) as he plots his evil rise to power.
Though Aaron Johnson, Chloe Moretz, Christopher Mintz-Plasse and Nic Cage are set to return to the Kick-Ass fold, the director of the original, Matthew Vaughn, is going to be in a supervisory role with Jeff Wadlow (Never Back Down, Cry_Wolf) writing and directing.
Kick-Ass 2: Balls to the Wall – as its full title reads – is set for a late 2013 release date.
