Scream... and Scream again! Yes, while that probably won't end up being the title, the team behind this year's successful horror legacy sequel/soft rebootquel are returning to make another movie where a masked killer stalks the small town of Woodsboro, as Paramount has ordered up a new sequel.

Directors Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett, part of the filmmaking collective known as Radio Silence, are returning behind the camera along with writers James Vanderbilt and Guy Busick.

This past January's Scream opened up the world of the stalker/slasher franchise to new, younger characters, but also brought back veterans Sidney Prescott (Neve Campbell), Gale Weathers (Courteney Cox) and Dewey Riley (David Arquette). Our guess is that the younger crowd are likely to be even more of the focus this time.

"We are tremendously grateful to the fans around the world who enthusiastically received our film. We can’t wait for audiences to see what Radio Silence, writers Jamie & Guy and Project X have in store for our Woodsboro family," Spyglass and Paramount said in a joint statement.

"Working with such a wonderful and talented family of creators — and in the lineage Wes and Kevin so expertly built — has been the thrill of a lifetime, and we’re so excited to bring the next chapter in the Scream saga to life," Radio Silence added.

As for the plot? Expect reference-heavy horror, lashings of blood and a few phone calls...
