While some of her Scream franchise co-stars, including Courteney Cox and David Arquette, already locked in deals to return for the new Ghostface film from the gang behind Ready Or Not, Neve Campbell was always more of a question mark. Reportedly looking to return, she's now officially signed on, as reported by Bloody Disgusting.

"After spending time speaking with Radio Silence, they have shown such love, respect and admiration for Wes Craven and all that he’s created in the Scream franchise," Campbell says in a statement. "I am beyond excited to step back into the role of Sidney Prescott and return to Woodsboro." She also solidified her return via Instagram, as seen in the post below.

With Ready Or Not's Matt Bettinelli-Olpin and Tyler Gillett sharing the directing duties, the script comes via James Vanderbilt and Ready's Guy Busick. The story's most being kept under wraps, but it'll blend the legacy characters with a new cast, including Jack Quaid, Melissa Barrera and Jenna Ortega. "We’re pinching ourselves!" enthuse the filmmakers, who work under the aforementioned group name Radio Silence. "It’s hard to express how much the character Sidney Prescott shaped our love of movies and to have the chance to work with Neve is truly a dream come true. It just wouldn’t be a Scream movie without Neve and we’re so excited and honored to join her in Woodsboro."

And Campbell is not the only piece of casting news. According toDeadline, Marley Shelton is now on to reprise her role as Deputy Judy Hicks, while the new, younger ensemble is being bolstered by Dylan Minnette, Mason Gooding, Mikey Madison, Kyle Gallner and Jasmin Savoy Brown.

The cameras will be cranking in Wilmington, North Carolina, with Paramount looking to have the film hit cinemas in January 2022.
