Looks like we could be in for a gravel-off between young and old as Scott Eastwood and Ed Harris are lining up to star together in a new based-on-truth thriller called The Last Full Measure.
According to Deadline, the film has Todd Robinson putting the pieces in place to direct his own script, which is based on actual events. Eastwood will play a Pentagon investigator who discovers evidence of a cover-up and has to battle the complicated political system in Washington to find the truth. He'll need help from some Vietnam War veterans in the case of heroic Air Force medic William Pitsenbarger, who sacrificed his life to save more than 60 fellow soldiers following an ambush during the conflict. His surviving comrades think he's entitled to the Medal Of Honor, but the government has covered up the incident.
Eastwood and Harris are not the only people who will end up on screen – Laurence Fishburne and Morgan Freeman are also in talks, with the cameras set to start rolling this September and the rights up for grabs at this month's Cannes Film Festival market, which kicks off in a couple of days.
Harris has a role in Warren Beatty's new, untitled Howard Hughes film and will also be seen in action thriller Geostorm. Eastwood next crops up in Suicide Squad and will be seen in Snowden, Furious 8 and Ben Affleck's Live By Night.
