Looks like German director Robert Schwentke is going home for his next movie.

The Flight Plan director has signed on to direct the thriller Venus Fixer, about a Holocaust survivor who is recruited by the US military to track down a serial killer who’s terrorising post-war Berlin.

To do so, he must join forces with a German policeman, with whom he had been good friends before the Nazis came to power.

Astonishingly, as well as reading like a Robert Harris novel, the movie will be based on a true story. J.C. Pollack wrote the screenplay, while Cathy Schulman will produce for Mandalay Pictures and New Line.
