Announced in a brief flurry of tweets from Sylvester Stallone a month ago, we know that Harrison Ford will be bringing his grouchy style to the set of **The Expendables 3 after Sly and co parted ways with Bruce Willis following tetchy contract negotiations. Arnold Schwarzenegger, himself an avid Tweeter, has now used the social network to post the first picture of Ford on set alongside director Patrick Hughes, which you can see above.
The 66 year-old Schwarzenegger appears to have had an enjoyable first day on the new film, which presumably means no one has been injured yet. We’ll wait and see if that holds, given this franchise’s penchant for putting its largely aging leading men through the wringer.
There’s still no word on what Ford will be doing in the film, though the fact that he's posing in flight gear either means A) he’ll take to the skies at some point or B) that’s just what he wears when he flies his private plane to work. We’re probably safer with option number A.
The Expendables 3 finds Sly and the Schwartz joined by veterans Jason Statham, Terry Crews, Dolph Lundgren, Jet Li and Randy Couture alongside franchise newcomers Mel Gibson, Wesley Snipes, Kellan Lutz and Ronda Rousey. It’ll shoot into cinemas here on August 15 next year.
Update: Arnie's at it again, this time posing with Hughes and Expendables co-writer/star/cheerleader Sly himself.
