Schwartzman Joins Anderson's Latest

Last November, it appeared that Wes Anderson might finally be locking in a cast for his next project, with a gallery of solid actors lining up to enter talks for the lead roles. Now it seems he’s adding one more regular to the crop, with Jason Schwartzman reportedly jumping aboard.

The Playlist dug up a story from the Providence Examiner, which is following the film’s development because Anderson plans to shoot in Rhode Island this spring. And he has locked in the likes of Ed Norton, Frances McDormand, Bruce Willis, Tilda Swinton and regular MVP, Bill Murray.

As written by Anderson and Roman Coppola, the script finds two young lovers in the 1960s who decide to run away together, which triggers a massive search in their small New England town. Norton will play a scout leader who engages his recruits on the hunt, while Willis is the local sheriff, who happens to be having an affair with the girl of the couple’s mother (McDormand). She in turn is dealing with her husband (Murray)’s own issues.

It’s not known what role all-round good bloke Schwartzman will play, but we’re definitely ready to see what Anderson can do with this cast.
