Only a few short months ago, we reported (here) that Todd Field had signed on to direct The Crowded Room, the story of Billy Milligan, a man suffering from multiple personality disorder with 24 distinct people in his head and a history of crime, both petty and serious. Well, stop the presses, because it appears Field's out and Joel Schumacher is in. For now. But bear in mind that directors and stars previously linked to this project include (deep breath) James Cameron and John Cusack, David Fincher and Brad Pitt, Steven Soderbergh and Sean Penn, Danny DeVito and Leonardo Di Caprio, as well as Field, Nick Cassavetes, F. Gary Gray, Gus Van Sant, Matthew McConaghey and Johnny Depp. Schumacher himself tried twice before
