Roger Spottiswoode, the director who cloned Arnie on The Sixth Day and sent Ripley Under Ground, has signed on to direct a stark, tale set during Japan’s 1937 invasion of China.

The Children Of Huang Shi, scripted by Jane Hawkley, follows a British journalist and an Australian nurse as they take a group of orphans on a 1,000-mile trek to safe territory. The film represents the first ever official co-production between Australia and China and will shoot in both the countries. Expect several of the orphans to be “lost” along the way for asking “are we there yet?” one too many times.
