She impressed us with her award-winning turn in American Honey and, after working with Andrea Arnold on that drama, Sasha Lane is now going to join forces with another respected British director. She'll be part of the cast for Ben Wheatley's Freakshift.
Alicia Vikander and Armie Hammer are already aboard the film, which explores a world where creatures rise up at night and terrorise decent citizens. That leads to the creation of the Freakshift themselves, a government-organised band of thrill-seeking hunters who are happy to go out a-killing of a night "for duty, sport and money."
Vikander is on to play one of the main characters, with Hammer as her love interest, while Lane's character isn't clear yet. Wheatley has been developing the movie for a few years with Amy Jump and it should be shooting this August.
Lane has been appearing in plenty of movies since her breakout, including The Miseducation Of Cameron Post and comedy drama Shotgun.
