American Horror Story and Carol’s Sarah Paulson looks set to join John Crowley’s (Brooklyn, Boy A) adaptation of Donna Tartt’s The Goldfinch alongside Ansel Elgort and Aneurin Barnard, according to The Wrap.

The film centres around Elgort's Theodore Decker. After surviving a terrorist attack that sees him lose his mother, Decker steals the titular painting from the art museum where the tragedy unfolded. Paulson will play Xandra, the girlfriend of Theo’s father – the man he begrudgingly has to move in with on the death of his mother.

Tartt's novel won the Pulitzer Prize back in 2014, staying on the New York Times bestseller list for a rather impressive 39 weeks.

Paulson can next be seen alongside Tom Hanks and Meryl Streep in Steven Spielberg’s The Post, starring with a whole bunch of awesome women (and the odd man) in Ocean’s Eight, and in M. Night Shyamalan’s Glass. She will also play Nurse Ratched in Netflix/Ryan Murphy's One Flew Over The Cuckoo's Nest origin story, Ratched. She's a very busy lady.
