Sandra Bullock is throwing in the towel as Hollywood rom-com go-to-girl, and embracing the joys of motherhood in her new role in the football drama-comedy The Blindside. Bullock will play the matriarch of a rich family in the suburbs who take in a homeless teen who turns out to be a potential NFL star.
Things had been a bit quiet of late in the Bullock household, with her last film being 2007's Premonition. But now everyone's favourite pageant cop is back with three films in a row - and even a rumoured role in the ever expanding **Expendables **(as if the addition of Arnie wasn't enough - it just keeps getting better).
Of course, Miss Bullock hasn't abandoned her rom-com mainstay altogether, as she hooks up with Ryan Reynolds as a cougar boss in need of a green card in The Proposal; and in All About Steve - where she expands her character ensemble yet again - playing a crossword-puzzle-obsessed woman stalking a CNN camera man.
The Blindside will be directed by The Rookie director John Lee Hancock who adapted the story from a book by Michael Lewis. Lewis' other sporting book, Moneyball is currently in production with Steven Soderbergh at the helm and is set to star Brad Pitt.
