Disney and Marvel are clearly putting a lot of cash and expectations behind their MCU-linked Disney+ series, with various shows either in production or at the planning stage. Now, one of the most famous MCU types is joining the party, as Variety reports that Samuel L. Jackson will play Nick Fury in a new show.
One of the most important MCU characters, even if he's often on the sidelines or pulling strings behind the scenes, Jackson's tough nut agent (and former director of SHIELD) was introduced way back in the post-credits sting of Iron Man, introducing Tony Stark to the concept of the Avengers Initiative. Since then, he's popped up in various movies, most notably Captain America: The Winter Soldier. He was last seen at the end of Spider-Man: Far From Home, aboard a Skrull ship on vacation/helping to set up the SWORD (Sentient World Observation and Response Department).
What the show will be about beyond Fury's further adventures is being kept secret for now (assuming the show hits screens), but Mr. Robot veteran Kyle Bradstreet is on board to oversee it.
The first show to hit screens from the Disney_ group will now be WandaVision, which recently put a trailer online.
