Looks like Jonah Hill will have something more to worry about than three meddlesome kids in his charge for The Sitter – Sam Rockwell has signed on to the movie to play a drug dealer who makes his life hell.
Hill is already aboard as a college drop out who’d like to spend his days smoking weed and taking it easy. But as a favour to his mother, he agrees to look after three kids for a few hours. Not being exactly well versed in childcare, he decides to bring the mischievous nippers along with him when he goes to score some drugs he hopes will help him win over a girl (Ari Graynor), but then the deal goes badly wrong and he and his young charges are chased over New York City.
It sounds like the premise for a truly generic comedy, but then you get a look at the whole cast list and the director. David Gordon Green is behind the camera, and the acting types involved include Curb Your Enthusiasm’s JB Smoove and Where The Wild Things Are’s Max Records. Which makes us actually hopeful it could rise above the limitations of the genre in a way that even **Date Night **couldn’t manage.
Green – who worked with Rockwell on Snow Angels and who has Your Highness awaiting release – is busy making the film right now in New York City.
