Sam Rockwell Joins Trolls 2

The success of last year's Trolls 'toon (particularly its soundtrack) naturally meant that DreamWorks Animation would kick off production on a follow-up, which is in full swing. Sam Rockwell, Chance the Rapper, Anthony Ramos, Karan Soni, Flula Borg and Jamie Dornan are among the newcomers for this sequel.

Justin Timberlake, Anna Kendrick, James Corden and Kunal Nayyar are all returning from the original, while Walt Dohrn and David P. Smith are sharing the director's chair this time.

As for the story, let the official synopsis provide the answers:

"Queen Poppy and Branch make a surprising discovery — there are other Troll worlds beyond their own, and their distinct differences create big clashes between these various tribes. When a mysterious threat puts all of the Trolls across the land in danger, Poppy, Branch, and their band of friends must embark on an epic quest to create harmony among the feuding Trolls to unite them against certain doom." And now you're all caught up.

This sequel aims to continue the musical feel, expanding genres to include country, hip-hop, hard rock and EDM. It'll be out in 2020.
