A comedy of control freak parents

Until now, Sam Jones has simply been a respected documentary maker, who brought us the superb rock doc I Am Trying To Break Your Heart, about the band Wilco’s struggle to make the album Yankee Hotel Foxtrot.

But he’s turning his attention to fictional matters for his first feature film, taking on Boomerang for Mandate Pictures. Fortunately not a remake of the awful Eddie Murphy “comedy”, it’s a wacky script by James Mottern, which follows a young man attempting to take back his life from his over-protective and controlling parents.
