Sam Claflin got used to dealing with disturbing things thanks to the unusual mermaids (and slightly shonky script) on Pirates Of The Caribbean: On Stranger Tides and in Snow White And The Huntsman. Now he’ll have to face something altogether more terrifying, as he’s joined the cast of Hammer’s The Quiet Ones.
Jared Harris signed a deal to star in the film last month, and he’ll play a charismatic professor who recruits his best students to take part in an experiment: creating a poltergeist from negative human energy. It will surprise exactly no one to learn that things do not go according to plan. Unless the plan was to unleash malevolent entities bent on chaos. In which case: score!
Variety doesn’t specify who Claflin will be playing in the movie, but given the story (loosely based on real events), we’d guess he’d be one of the high-flying recruits who come to regret joining up.
**Quarantine 2 **director John Pogue has written the latest draft of the script and is set to kick off shooting in June. Claflin will next be seen in Snow White And The Huntsman, which hits our screens on May 30.
