As Eternal Beauty director Craig Roberts starts the cameras cranking for his next film, The Fantastic Flitcrofts, he's adding Beauty's star Sally Hawkins to the cast alongside Rhys Ifans.
The film, written by Paddington veteran Simon Farnaby, tells the heart-warming true story of Maurice Flitcroft (Mark Rylance), a dreamer and unrelenting optimist, who managed to gain entry to The British Open Golf Championship qualifying in 1976 and subsequently shot the worst round in Open history, becoming a folk hero in the process.
Jake Davies, Christian Lees, Jonah Lees, Mark Lewis Jones and Johann Myers are all also aboard the film which is now shooting, with eOne nabbing the rights to distribute it in the UK. There's no word on a release date yet, but hopefully it should be on screens next year.
