It would seem that getting to play a gun-toting badass in The Losers left an impression on Avatar's** **Zoe Saldana, as she’s in early negotiations to join Luc Besson’s next action drama production Columbiana.

According to the Heat Vision Blog, **Transporter 3 **director Olivier Megaton is scheduled to be behind the camera for the film, which sees a young woman living in Bogota who is traumatised when her parents are slaughtered in front of her.

She grows up to be a tough-as-nails assassin with a double life: she offs people for her uncle as a hit woman during the day, but her nights are spent on a vigilante crusade to track down the mobster who murdered her folks.

Besson wrote the script with Taken/Transporter co-scribe Robert Mark Kamen, and Megaton will kick off shooting later in the summer for a 2011 release.
