It may not be the most hotly anticipated sequel bubbling along in development, but Sony is still solidly behind Men In Black 3. And now the studio is rumoured to be looking upping the comedy quotient, with Sacha Baron Cohen and Flight Of The Conchords’ Jemaine Clement on the wish list to play a new character.
Neither are anywhere near the film just yet, though apparently whoever did sign on would be playing a new character called Yaz.
The script, by Tropic Thunder co-writer Etan Cohen, apparently sees Will Smith’s Agent J sent back in time and teaming up with a younger version of regular partner K (the role Josh Brolin has been approached to play, since he seems born to play a younger Tommy Lee Jones).
Little else has been revealed about the film, though Sony is known to want to get it into production before summer. Now what they need is a director. And some solid casting deals, not just wish lists...
