His name may sound as though a few letters are missing, but don't underestimate RZA. Robert Diggs, as he is also known, is de facto leader of the Wu Tang hip hop supergroup, and a music producer, rapper and occasional actor. And now he's about to add some more feathers to that already well-feathered cap, with the news that he is writing and directing martial arts film The Man With The Iron Fist.

RZA's developing the film with Eli Roth, but has also apparently spent the last several years studying directing at the knee of Quentin Tarantino. He already has an apparently encyclopaedic knowledge of martial arts films, and has worked on a number of film soundtracks in recent years, having composed music for everything from Ghost Dog: Way of the Samurai to Kill Bill to the upcoming Babylon AD. He also worked on Soul Plane, but let's not blame him for that.

Nothing's known about the plot yet, but Roth told our mates at CHUD that it would have "everything martial arts fans could want", and that "there will be blood". Combined with (we're going out on a limb here) a pretty kick-ass soundtrack, this could be a real treat for kung fu fans.
